The Problem

A new build house in Preston had an issue with lots of foot traffic passing their house from early morning right through till evening. The house is situated on a corner of a junction and this started to be a problem for them as vehicles waiting at the junction to turn made the owners feel as though people were looking straight in to their house, which they quickly knew they had to do something about. They thought of blinds initially, albeit the blinds would give them privacy they would stop too much of the natural light thus making their home dark inside.

Our Solution

We arranged a survey at time convenient to them where we measured all the windows in order to provide our quotation. We were able to show samples of possible window films we could offer and photos of installations to show how when finished it could look. We discussed the different window film options and explained what each window film would and wouldn't do. We knew they didn't want to make the rooms dark and to allow as much natural light to pass through the glass whilst giving them the privacy they desired. They also didn't want a silver shiny mirrored exterior finish type of window film either.

The Window Film We Used

We used Low Mirror Neutral Grey 35 window film, which has a more natural internal look and a lesser reflective exterior finish (visible light reflected exterior 17%) compared to the shiny silver window film (visible light reflected exterior 60%). Once we completed the installation they were so surprised how unnoticeable it was from inside looking out and said that even though we assured them this was the right choice they was still nervous of how the end result would look. They were absolutely thrilled with the time it took to install (4 hours) and the end result.
