Conservatory In Sale Requires Solar Control

The Problem

Beautiful large conservatory to the rear of this house and south facing so enjoys the sun from dawn till dusk. Having not lived here long the owners soon realised they had an issue with both heat and glare in their conservatory. They loved the amount of natural light that flooded their conservatory and didn't want to loose that but at the same time the heat that built up inside was overwhelming as well as the glare from the sun. They were adamant that they didn't what to install blinds as this would reduce the amount of light the conservatory received and they wanted to be able to see out through the glass roof where with blinds they wouldn't be able too. They had read about our solar control window films on our website and wanted some more information of how it could be the answer to their issues.

Our Solution

As always with conservatory's, orangeries and lanterns a survey appointment was agreed where we would take measurements, show samples of window films along with photos of previous installations and discuss how each window film would help them. Firstly we explained that if they were to go ahead, then only the glass roof should be treated as this is usually enough to resolve most glass related problems and if needed, we could always return to treat the vertical glazing in the conservatory as these were quite tall windows. Having discussed the individual performance of our solar control window films, we agreed on one which would reduce heat gain and reduce the amount of glare they were experiencing.

The Window Film We Used

We used our solar control low mirror neutral grey 20 window film and applied it internally to all the roof glass. Each window is thoroughly cleaned prior to applying any window film, then each individual piece is cut oversized so we can neatly trim all the edges for a perfect fit. Once the installers had finished the owners walked in the conservatory and instantly noticing they didn't have to squint their eyes as the glare was now reduced, they even noticed the heat difference and it had literally just been completed, needless to say they were very happy with the outcome.
