Unwanted Heat and Glare. Privacy Required Holmes Chapel

Location

Cranage, Holmes Chapel

The Problem

Cranage Nook is situated on a country lane surrounded by farmland, the self contained purpose built guest suite is now advertised on Airbnb. The owners of this beautiful property wanted to add some finishing touches to make it a little more private for future guests. The three bi fold doors to the front are glazed with clear toughened glass and not wanting to lose the view by installing blinds, window film was the perfect solution they decided having seen one of our previous installations at their friends property. This would also resolve the glare issue that effects watching the television.

Our Solution

We first carried out our survey to establish what we could do to give all guests privacy and to cut down the glare that shines on to the television. We recommended using a window film that has more of a grey exterior finish rather than a bright shiny silver to go with the door frame colour, this would offer a good degree of privacy and would also combat the glare issue along with reducing the sun's heat and would help to reduce the effects of the sun's fading of furnishings and floors too.

The Window Film We Used

We installed solar control Steel 35 window film to the internal side of the three bi fold doors and a large window to the side. When the owners seen what we had done they were so pleased how it looked from inside and outside and said it was absolutely perfect. At first they was unsure as to whether we had actually applied the window film as it's natural warm interior look is perfect for residential property's and can go unnoticeable.
This particular window film reduces heat gain by 66% glare by 63% and 99% of UV light from passing through and has a 10-year warranty when installed by us.
