Conservatory Too Hot

Location

Ashton-Under-Lyne

The Problem

Overwhelming heat inside this conservatory had made it unusable to the occupants on sunny days as it was just too hot to sit in, even with the doors open. Added to this there's the glare, causing discomfort to anyone inside. Blinds were their initial thought but again, the cost was so expensive. Plus they require frequent cleaning as they attract flies and insects as well as the dust. The elderly couple weren't able to climb ladders to do this. They contacted the company who built their conservatory for advice and they recommended us, Manchester Window Film.

Our Solution

At the initial visit to survey the conservatory we took measurements of the roof glazing. We explained that an installation of one of our solar control window films would resolve the heat and glare issues and also would help protect their furnishings from fading by blocking 99% of ultra violet light passing through the glass. We showed several different samples of our solar control window film range, whilst explaining the benefits of each one as well as our recommendation to achieve their desired outcome.

The Window Film We Used

We thoroughly cleaned all the glass which was to be treated to remove any dirt particles before we started the installation. We used Reflective Silver 20, a fantastic solar control window film that offers glare reduction by 83%, stops 99% of ultra violet light and 80% of solar energy entering through the glass. This window film reflects the sun's heat away, leaving it cooler inside whilst still allowing the natural light to pass through, so not making it dark. The installation took just 3 hours from start to finish and at a fraction of the cost of blinds and leaving the customer with a maintenance free conservatory roof, apart from normal cleaning.
