The Problem

A house in Didsbury, Manchester had an upstairs room that the sun was shining through the windows from first thing in the morning and most of the day, it would make the room so uncomfortable with the amount of the sun's heat building up in this room. The room was used an office and needed to be in use all day so something had to be done to solve the issue. The customer had already installed roller blinds which were great at stopping the glare but not the sun's heat as that would still able to filter around them. They needed a window film which would combat this problem but a window film which wouldn't cut out the natural light entering through the windows or make the room dark.

Our Solution

We recommended a dual reflective window film, perfect for this kind of situation making an incredible difference to the amount of solar heat and glare transmitted through the glass. These dual reflective window films vary with the density selected and also offer excellent performance of solar heat rejection and glare control with higher visible light transmission (VLT) than traditional reflective solar control films. The dual reflective window film used was of low density which has a less reflective inner layer to preserve the view outside. The film blocks 99.9% of UV light entering through the glazing limiting fading and damage caused from the sun. Its warm neutral interior appearance is ideal for residential domestic applications and can go unnoticed if your not aware its already installed.

Window films with a higher VLT are lighter in appearance and allow more light to pass through, the film we used here has a VLT of 40% and has a 10 year warranty covering peeling, distorting and fading. The customer was completely satisfied with choice of window film we recommended and the way the installation was carried out so much they left us a 5* positive review on google. It took us just 2 hours to complete again with virtually no disruption to the customer.
